Mechanical Engineering & Sustainable Energy Technologies

The courses covers the latest state of-the-art computer based analysis and design techniques used in the automotive industry. The course has been developed in conjunction with the automotive industry and will provide the graduate with an in-depth insight into the key technological areas that are driving automotive engineering design.

Entry requirements

MSc: Normal requirements are at least a UK second class honours degree or equivalent in a related engineering or technology discipline. If you do not meet the above but have significant appropriate experience, your application will be considered, provided that you satisfy the University that you are capable of responding to the challenge of postgraduate work.  If your first language is not English, you will need to demonstrate that you are fluent enough to cope with the course. A minimum score of IELTS 6 or TOEFL 550 (213 computer-based) is normally required.

Course modules

Modules include: Research methods and project management; design technologies for master; structural integrity; advanced engine design; advanced vehicle aerodynamics; advanced vehicle dynamics; control systems; and a project.
