Strategic Human Resource Management

The course aims to provide experienced practitioners who are CIPD qualified with a challenging programme that develops their strategic competence. It is intended to provoke and challenge the course participants in their thinking and expectations about how and why we manage people at work. The programme challenges participants to consider how different HRM approaches may be more effective in achieving corporate success.

Entry requirements

Applicants must have successfully completed the PG Diploma in HRM/HRD (or equivalent) and have at least 2 years experience in a senior managerial, strategic role in order to allow you to contextualise the research and learning. You would normally be a graduate associate or full member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. You must demonstrate an appropriate level of experience and potential to benefit from the course. Evidence of satisfactory English language skills is required for candidates where English is not their 1st language, such as IELTS 7.0 or above, or TOEFL 550 or above.
