Secondary Education (Computer Science)
The university focuses on developing the student's subject skill base, developing pedagogy for the subject and encouraging a wider view of learning, teaching and support services; this takes place on the Stafford and Stoke campus and draws upon the experience of practising teachers as well as highly experienced university tutors; successful completion of this course leads to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), subject to satisfactory performance in skills tests.
A minimum 2.2 Honours degree, at least 50 per cent in an appropriate subject; GCSE mathematics and English grade C qualifications (or equivalent); a good general education; a good understanding of the education system gained from work or placement in schools or experience of working with secondary school aged pupils; successful CRB application and be certified fit to teach; must be information communication technology literate.
