For students studying part-time, face-to-face meetings with supervisors and access to study resources are important issues, and affect acceptance onto our awards; part-time students are expected to spend an appropriate amount of time within the faculty each year; a student's individual circumstances affect his or her access to study materials; while access to the web is helpful, access to a good research library, for example, is imperative for advanced research work; local supervision, especially for students outside the UK, is also an important issue.
