Electronic Engineering

This programme provides coherent and up to date coverage of electronic engineering; the approach spans specification and design to realisation, with particular emphasis on the application of industry standard CAD tools and DSP devices to develop solutions to practical engineering problems.

Entry requirements

An Honours degree in appropriate discipline (such as electrical, electronic or mechanical engineering, production engineering, computing, mathematics, physical science or information technology); exceptional entry considered for unqualified mature students (age over 25) with appropriate experience after successful interview.

Course modules

Modules include: Research methods and project management; analogue systems and instrumentation; digital electronic systems; digital signal processing; quality and project management for technology; MSc project; optional modules include: technical paper authoring; embedded real time systems; telecommunications; VLSI design; power semi-conductor devices; robotics and automation; control system design; industrial placement.

Postgraduate bursaries are available ranging from £500 to £2,000.
