Aeronautical Engineering

This programme covers a broad range of areas including fixed wing and rotary aircraft, subsonic and supersonic flight regimes, aircraft propulsion systems, aircraft control systems, materials, etc. As well as taught classes, students use our extensive range of laboratories which include industry standard design and analysis software, including Pro Engineer, Phoenix CFD, ANSYS FEA, etc.

Entry requirements

A Second Class Honours degree or equivalent in a related engineering or technology discipline; applicants who do not meet the academic requirements but have significant appropriate experience are considered on an individual basis; applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6 or TOEFL 550 (213 computer-based).

Course modules

Modules: Technical and study skills; research methods and project management; control systems for aeronautics; structural integrity; aircraft propulsion systems; advanced aeronautics; advanced vehicle aerodynamics.
