Governance and Sustainable Development
This course examines the nature and role for governance in support of progress towards sustainable development; examines the conceptual debates and analysis of the challenges which government, civil society and the private sector needs to face when engaging with the central tenets of sustainable development; covers the First and Third World; students are able to bias their studies towards First or Third World issues through their choice of assignments within modules and research project focus.
Normally, an Honours degree in a related subject such as geography, politics, environmental studies/ science, environmental management, law, sociology or development; but candidates with lower 2nd degrees (or equivalent) in other subjects also are considered.
