Medieval Studies

The MA in Medieval Studies draws on the expertise of staff working on both medieval history and medieval language and literature. The MA covers Late Antiquity to the Renaissance, and the British Isles and France to Italy and the Holy Land. Areas of particular staff expertise include gender, warfare, aristocratic culture, and frontiers and borderlands. Students have the opportunity to become familiar with the medieval heritage of South Wales and the surrounding region, through work with the West Glamorgan Record Office and the library of Hereford Cathedral and through contact with the organisations that are responsible for the preservation of Welsh historical sites, Cadw and the Royal Commission for the Ancient and Historical Movements of Wales.
