Social Work (graduate entry)

A two year, full-time programme that will prepare students for employment as professionally qualified social workers. It lays the foundation for their continuing professional development. It also reflects the key themes of contemporary social work in Wales. We are pleased to confirm the programme meets all the Care Council requirements and is now fully approved as a professional social work programme as defined in The Approval and Visiting of Degree Courses in Social Work (Wales) Rules 2012.

Entry requirements

A 1st degree in social work at 2.2 or higher, plus GCSE maths and English at C or above (or equivalent). All applicants will be required to demonstrate awareness and understanding of the code of practice for social care workers. Applicants must register as a student social worker once accepted on to the programme. Applicants should have a minimum of 210 hours social care work experience in the last 5 years in either a paid or voluntary capacity. Applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.5 (with a minimum 6.0 in each qualification (or equivalent).
