We cover a broad range of issues and encourage students to critically reflect on their practice and address theory and relevant research specific to their own interests.

Course modules

Modules typically include: researching childhood; understanding and observing child development; children's rights and safeguarding children and young people; child health; dissertation.

Assessment methods

Students are assessed throughout their coursework (e.g. written assignments such as research projects, child observations and essays and seminar presentations) and a dissertation of approximately 20,000 words.
