User Experience Design

Students develop expertise in creating web and mobile applications specifically focused on the complex relationships between people, technology and design processes; they establish the knowledge and skills to enter the UX profession as a designer, developer or project manager; there is also the potential for students to go on to further research for a PhD in a specialist area.

Entry requirements

Applicants require a 2.2 degree (or above) in a related degree, such as computing or psychology, or significantly documented relevant industry experience.

Course modules

Core modules include: Agile project management; inclusive design; Master's project; mobile apps development; rapid application development; research methods for computing; UX modelling.

Assessment methods

The course includes a variety of assessment methods including presentations, peer review, critique, reports, short reflective essays and prototype implementation of web products and mobile apps. You may be assessed by teamwork or individual assignments. You receive feedback on your progress during supported sessions, as well as feedback on your in-course assessment.
