This course provides the opportunity for students to develop the skills and knowledge needed to advance practice within their own specialist area effectively; it assists individual practitioners in developing the skills needed to facilitate the advancement of practice through critical analysis, synthesis and application of relevant underpinning theories; students have an opportunity to focus on a specific area of practice for development and integrate evidence-based processes progressively in order to advance practice; this culminates in an evaluation of the project.
Applicants should be graduates from a health and social care background; qualified health or social care professionals who can provide evidence of the ability to work at postgraduate level are also welcome to apply.
Core modules include: Advanced personal effectiveness in leadership; evidence-based practice; health and social care in context; advancing practice portfolio; designing research projects; dissertation; evaluating practice.
