Advanced Social Work Studies
This course enables you (as a registered social worker) to build on initial post qualifying training and practice experience further; enhancing and developing your knowledge and skills, and to obtain a PG Certificate qualification that also recognises your level of capability within TCSWs Professional Capabilities Framework at Social Worker/Experienced Social Worker levels. Delivered at Darlington campus except for Court Skills and Negotiated Learning which are taught at Middlesbrough campus.
Applicants must be registered social workers.
Core modules include: Advanced skills assessment; court skills for social workers; practice education stage 2.
Both formative and summative assessment is used within the programme. Formative assessment relates to tasks and activities undertaken by you, for which you receive feedback from a tutor. Formative feedback is designed to inform you of your progress and attainment during the programme and should be used by you to enhance your work towards your summative assessment tasks. Formative assessment is not counted towards your final marks. Summative assessment therefore, is the evaluation of your knowledge, values and skills; the outcome of which provides your marks.
Please note that due to current anticipated changes to NHS education and HE funding, information relating to funding will be updated on Teesside University website.
