This MSc programme offers you an advanced level of study in specific aspects of mechanical engineering which are in demand from industry. It is an ideal bridging programme for those graduates seeking to register as a Chartered Engineer with the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.
Normally a 2.2 Honours degree in a mechanical engineering related discipline (e.g. mechancial, manufacturing, aerospace, automotive); or equivalent international qualification; corporate membership of an appropriate chartered institution or significant relevant work experience may be considered; most non-UK applicants will be required to have a recognised English language qualification equivalent to at least IELTS 6.0 with no band below 5.5.
Modules include: Research and study skills; CAD/CAM and product development; machine design; research and study skills; finite element methods. 3 optional modules from: Automotive engineering and vehicle design or manufacturing systems; engineering practice or project management and enterprise; supply chain management or applied continuum mechanics; project.
Assessment varies from module to module and can include in-course assignments, laboratory work, project dissertation, poster presentations and formal examinations.
