Students build upon their existing management and leadership experience and skills; the course covers a core business framework involving the management of people, finance, information, operations and markets; students focus on the major functional areas of business, incorporating an element of choice and flexibility, moving on to examine organisational strategy and current issues; students design an applied research project which leads to the completion of their dissertation.
A good Honours degree or equivalent (2.2 or above) or a postgraduate qualification or a relevant professional qualification; in addition applicants are expected to have at least 2 years' relevant work experience; however, those without an Honours degree who have significant appropriate work experience are still encouraged to apply.
Modules include: Dissertation; entrepreneurship; financial management; issues in the global economy; managing people through change; operations management; strategic management; strategic marketing planning; business management research; cross-cultural leadership.
Assessment methods vary according to the module studied and can include reports, formal examinations, in-course work, live consultancy projects and presentations.
