Legal Practice (Conflict Resolution)

The course will deliver a Master's-level insight into different aspects of the conflict resolution process, combining taught modules on dispute resolution, research methods and related commercial topics with a dissertation on an aspect of conflict resolution of the student's own choice.

Entry requirements

Students should possess a UK bachelors degree in any subject at 2:2 or above or equivalent qualifications. Students applying from outside of the UK must also possess an English language level equivalent to IELTS 6.5 or above, with a minimum of 6.0 in each component.

Course modules

Compulsory Modules; - International Dispute Resolution Practice - Research Methods Module A choice of two optional modules from; - International Intellectual Property Practice - International Commercial Law & Practice - International Competition/Anti-Trust Practice - International Joint Ventures In addition students will complete a 60 credit 15,000 word practice-focused dissertation on a subject of their own choice related to conflict resolution.

Assessment methods

For the International Dispute Resolution Practice module and other law modules, there is a coursework style Module Assignment (20 credits) and a Portfolio Report (10 credits) both of which must be submitted by the same assessment deadline (usually 5 months after module commencement). The research methods module will be assessed by presentation of a detailed written dissertation proposal. The dissertation will be assessed by submission of the dissertation itself.
