UCL Institute of Education, University of London

A graduate college of the University of London, the Institute of Education (IOE) was founded in 1902 to deliver high quality training for teachers. Remaining true to this aim, 1,000 graduates attend our Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) courses each year. We have increased our activities over the years and now offer courses leading to higher degrees in all areas of education and related aspects of the social sciences and professional practice. Many of our courses are offered on a part-time basis. Distance learning is becoming increasingly popular, with our courses structured to suit the busy lives of people working in the education service.

On 2 December 2014, the IOE merged with UCL and became the UCL Institute of Education.
