Humanities Education (Citizenship/History/Religious Education)
This course provides the opportunity to: focus on your area of interest � history, citizenship or religious education; attain a joint masters degree in two subject areas; strengthen your professional practice and career prospects; take any module as a short, stand-alone course; study online or combine face-to-face study with online learning; prepare you for continuing your studies beyond MA, including work for an EdD or PhD.
An Honours degree and some experience of working in the field of humanities education; alternative qualifications and experience are also considered.
Modules include: Children's rights in practice; history, culture and citizenship: engaging with museums, galleries and heritage; international perspectives in history education; issues and debates in religious education; learning, teaching and assessment in history; religion and school life; theories of childhood and children's rights; transnational perspectives on democratic education.
Assessment is by coursework and a 15,000-word dissertation or 10,000-word report.
