The course: increases students' understanding of the academic theory of science education; critically evaluates research and development in the field; applies scientific ideas to the practice of science education; gives students insights into contemporary developments in science education.
A 1st degree and experience in teaching science or working in a science-related field of education.
Modules include: Current developments in science education; foundations of science education; practical research in mathematics and science education.
Assessment is by coursework assignments of 5,000 words per module; and a dissertation of 20,000 words.
