This course provides critical insight into theories, methods and methodologies for studying higher and professional education; increases understanding of conceptual and analytical frameworks in professional practices and processes; develops knowledge, skills and confidence enabling students to operate in diverse and changing institutions; includes consideration of: policy, management, teaching and learning, quality assurance, professional education, professionalism and professional development, international dimensions, research, gender, equity and social inclusion, access and participation in higher education.
A 1st degree and relevant professional experience.
Modules include: What is education; communicating geography in education; understanding research.
Assessment is by a 10,000-word report or a 15,000-word dissertation.
