Social Pedagogy (Working with Children and Families)
This programme aims to: Introduce students to the field of social pedagogy and its concepts and principles and a range of current theories about social pedagogic ways of working with children; critically explore the life circumstances of children in public care and the implication this has for professional practice with children; and enable students to rethink their professional practice by investigating new ways of understanding communication and interpersonal relationships.
A 1st degree in social science, education or cultural studies, humanities or a related field; applicants should have professional experience of working with and for children in disadvantaged circumstances.
A first degree in social science, education or cultural studies, humanities or a related field or a good first degree in another subject with experience in child care, health, education or children's advocacy. You should have experience of working with and for children and young people.
