Architecture and Digital Theory

The course explores digital theory, history, and cultures, in all their guises: from design and fabrication, to many related fields and disciplines that are being affected and transformed by the new digital paradigm.

Entry requirements

A 2nd Class degree in architecture or an associated design discipline or an overseas qualification of an equivalent standard.

Course modules

Core modules: History and theory of digital design; architecture and digital theory: research mini project; architecture and digital theory: main research project. Options: Design as a knowledge-based process; introduction to programming for architecture and design; architectural design: historical, cultural and theoretical skills.

Assessment methods

The programme is delivered through a combination of informal and formal presentation to critics, lectures and seminars, face-to-face and by email tutorial. Assessment is through coursework, written papers and public presentations.
