This programme is designed to provide a fundamental understanding of information security and to convey practical engineering skills.
A minimum of an upper 2nd Class UK Honours degree in computer science, electrical engineering or mathematics, or an overseas qualification of an equivalent standard. Relevant work experience may also be taken into account.
Modules include: Computer security 1; introduction to cryptography; research in information security. Optional modules: distributed systems and security; people and security; applied cryptography; computer security 2; information security management; language based security; relevant options from other MSC degree programmes.
Assessment is through written examinations, presentations, vivas, tests, coursework, written reports, formal presentations and the research project.
