Literacy Learning and Literacy Difficulties

This programme provides students with the opportunity to draw on the strengths of a team with research expertise in literacy and experience in evaluating early literacy interventions. They will also investigate literacy acquisition and problems in depth, covering reading, writing and spelling.

Entry requirements

If taking IELTS, applicants must obtain an overall grade of 7.0 with a minimum of 6.5 in the reading subtest and 6.0 in the writing subtest.

Course modules

Core modules: Literacy practice in writing and comprehension; reading and spelling difficulties; research methods in literacy and literary development.

Assessment methods

All modules are assessed via the equivalent of a 4,000-word assignment.
