Documentary Practice

The programme aims to provide students and professionals alike with the opportunity to study documentary film making in practice underpinned with sound academic theory within the context of the current media industry.

Entry requirements

Candidates must meet the University's minimum entrance requirements and in addition, hold an Honours degree at minimum 2.1 or professional equivalence.

Assessment methods

Assessment is based on 100 per cent coursework. Assessment by practice using industry models, such as films, proposals, pitches, budgets, scripts. Academic component assessed by critical and reflective writing through essays, reports and dissertation.

Sponsorship information

Scholarships are available from the Northern Ireland Film and Television Commission and the Irish Language Broadcasting Fund; international students maybe eligible for British Council Awards.
