Stem Cell Biology

This programme will further develop their skills in experimental design and stem cell commercialisation; successful completion of the course allow students to capitalise on opportunities in areas such as research, law, clinics and industry; students study in a supportive and collaborative online environment where students are supported by an e-tutor; the course covers the latest exciting advances in stem cell science and equip students with the skills to critically analyse these discoveries not only during the course but during their future career.

Entry requirements

Students will be considered for entry to the programme on an individual basis; development of this course has been funded by the BBSRC Modular Training for industry programme in collaboration with an advisory board of stem cell industry representatitves from UK and USA; priority for places is therefore given, but not restricted to, delegates from UK stem cell industry.

Course modules

PgCert: stem cell biology; evidence based healthcare practice; PgDip: techniques in stem cell biology; commercialization of stem cells; research skills and statistics.

Assessment methods

Assessment will be by 100 percent coursework which will take various forms including contributions to online discussions, online quizzes and various pieces of written work.
