Research is focused in 4 key areas: policy processes and outcomes with specialisations (education including higher education, housing, health and social care, labour markets and public procurement, historical and sociological analysis of policy in the UK); equality, social inclusion and human rights (includes discrimination, fair employment gender, race, disability, immigration/refugee studies); governance, and citizenship (governance and public administration, voluntary action studies, community relations, community development, conflict management, partnerships, electoral outcomes and political welfare, local-central relations); comparative social policy and social policy in developing countries.
