International Tourism Management

The course enables students to acquire an understanding of the policy, strategy and leadership aspects of international hotel and tourism industry; provides a coherent academic tool for students who will explore the aggregate environment in which international hotel and tourism operates.

Entry requirements

Lower 2nd Class Honours degree in a relevant hotel, tourism or hospitality management related area from a recognised institution or an equivalent professional qualification; exceptionally, applicants who do not satisfy the above requirements may be admitted at the discretion of the course committee; an interview may form part of the selection process.

Course modules

Modules include: International hotel sector; strategic marketing management in practice; managing people for success; managing tourism environments; business opportunity management; elective modules; tourism in emerging markets; visitor attractions and events; research methods and dissertation.

Assessment methods

Written essays, short synopsis, reviews and peer reviews, case studies, objective tests, reports and individual and group reports.
