Youth and Community Development

The course is suitable for applicants that may already be joint negotiating committee (JNC) for youth and community workers qualified, or equivalent; students wishing to complete the Master's qualification need to complete a 12,000-14,000 word dissertation.

Entry requirements

1st Degree or equivalent in youth work, work with young people, youth and community work or a 1st Degree or equivalent in the social sciences and humanities area (e.g. sociology, education, psychology etc); ideally applicants should be working in a suitable youth and community work setting, this can be in a paid or unpaid capacity.

Course modules

Social justice and youth and community development; personal and professional change; management and the youth and community professional; research methods and ethics; Master's dissertation; plus options chosen from; tracing trends; coaching and mentoring; effective management and leadership for childhood.
