Learning and Teaching
This course gives the opportunity at MA level to identify an area for individual research which will be near the boundaries of current knowledge and understanding of learning and teaching in vocational subjects.
This course is for those who are employed in higher education lecturing or for those who have some years experience as a lecturer or manager of vocational training.
Core modules: professional development; professional practice. Optional modules for MA/PGCert: the vocational curriculum; functional and employability skills; grading of assessment and performance in the vocational curriculum; plan, manage and assess work based learning; research methods and ethics; implementing 14 - 19 diplomas; distance learning materials projects; assessment materials projects; coaching and mentoring; delivering 14 - 19 diplomas. Optional modules for MA: managing vocational learning; managing partnerships to provide training; international policy frameworks for vocational training; curriculum development in vocational education; Master's dissertation.
