The course provides a context of film production which allows students to experience the rigours of filmmaking, reflecting the realities of current film practice, within the supportive structures of a film school. Study aims to enhance students' understanding of the professional demands of the film industry, and to fully equip them for a freelance career. Students have the opportunity for critical debate around current theoretical approaches to filmmaking practice.

Entry requirements

A good Honours degree (normally 2.1 or above) or equivalent qualification in your chosen subject or a related discipline. And/or relevant work experience, demonstrating the ability to study at postgraduate level.

Course modules

Stage 1: critical contexts/cinematic storytelling; creating cinematic words. Stage 2: production. Stage 3: post-production and professional context.
