Graphic Design

This course is structured to promote the role of designers as skilled professional communicators, and firmly embed a culture of research and problem solving into creative practice. The course aims to promote specialism and mastery in an area of graphic design that identified and developed on the MA. Enabling the student to produce meaningful outcomes from informed research is a top priority.

Entry requirements

A good Honours degree (normally 2.1 or above) or equivalent qualification in a chosen subject or a related discipline and/or relevant work experience, demonstrating the ability to study at postgraduate level. Applicant will be invited to interview and asked to present a portfolio of work. Applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.0 (with a minimum 5.5 in each component) or equivalent.

Course modules

Stage 1: research and method. Stage 2: reflection and development; professional practice and creative project management. Stage 3: final project.

Assessment methods

Students are assessed on evidence of their knowledge, understanding through application of ideas, research and methodological structure and technical and applied skills.
