University of Aberdeen

Accounting and Finance

This programme is designed specifically to enhance employment prospects. It assumes little or no business knowledge at undergraduate level and helps graduates from any discipline break into this highly skilled profession. This programme gives students the opportunity to take a professional qualification within the course, the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Certificate from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). The intention is that, along with the MSc, this will both prepare students for a financial role within a company and show potential employers that the student not only has theoretical, but also practical professional knowledge.
Those students who do not wish to take the IFRS certificate have an alternative research-based programme whilst their colleagues are working on the IFRS material.
