Bringing together faculty interests, knowledge, experiences and a strong commitment to graduate employability prospects, the programme of 6 modules and a dissertation/project is designed to enable you to prosper in what is a complex and competitive and continually changing market place. Importantly, the modules you will study employ a variety of modern and traditional teaching methods including lectures, small-group workshops, computer-based simulations, interpersonal role-plays, negotiating and marketing pitch presentation exercises. Moreover, our programme also offers students the option of following 1 of 2 routes in the last stage of the programme (undertaking a traditional research dissertation or a practice-based consultancy project based on a specific company-based issue).
The minimum requirement is a good 1st degree (equivalent to a British 2nd Class Honours degree) or above in any discipline. References are not required in order for applicants to submit an application. They are not usually required in order for a decision to be made but in certain cases applicants may be asked to provide a single academic reference at the request of the academic selector. English proficiency is required.
Semester 1: Marketing management; marketing decision making; interpersonal management, negotiation and persuasion; new product and service development. Semester 2: Marketing communications; consumer behaviour; business model innovation; research practice. Summer term: Dissertation or marketing project.
Our programme employs a variety of assessment methods which are designed to assess knowledge, competencies and skills that are required in the role of a modern marketer. Predominantly this means you will be required to prepare reports, group and individual presentation etc.
