Economics

Research in applied economics, particularly in the areas of labour economics and energy economics. There are also research interests in macroeconomics, international economics, industrial organisation, labour economics the economics of health and wellbeing, and experimental economics.

Entry requirements

Applicants are recommended to have a Master's degree, and Upper 2nd Class Honours degree or equivalent in economics. A full research proposal should also be submitted when making an application.

Course modules

Areas of research include: Rural and regional economics; macroeconomics and finance; institutional economics; economic history; business economics. Major research activities include: Labour economics; economics of energy and natural resources; experimental economics; regional and rural development; effects of devolution within the UK.
