A key aim of the programme is to develop your ability to think logically, laterally, practically and independently so that as an energy professional you will be able to make better decisions. The programme will equip you with a broad and up-to-date foundation of real-life knowledge about business as well as the necessary skills to put this knowledge into practice.
A good 2nd Class Honours degree from a UK University (or equivalent qualification from a recognised institution for those with non-UK qualifications) and 3 years post undergraduate work experience. Please ensure that you send a full CV with your application. Alternatively, substantial industry experience and a portfolio of training. Individuals seeking entry via this route will be required to provide a comprehensive CV detailing the experience, training and qualifications they have obtained to date. It is anticipated that all individuals applying via this route will be interviewed. Applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.5 (with a minimum 6.0 in reading and writing) or equivalent.
Autumn semester (September to January): Value and markets; business and money; project management; business strategy. Spring semester (February to May): Managing self and others; the leadership challenge; business model innovation; managing change and innovation. Summer semester (June � August): Either 4 courses from: Talking to teams; energy finance; supply chain management; managing distributed teams; internationalisation. Or, 2 electives from the above example and a work-based learning project.
All courses are assessed through a portfolio of work. These portfolios are practical in nature and are designed to provide opportunities for students to demonstrate both their knowledge of theories and research and their practical ability to work effectively and efficiently.
