Medical Education

This part-time programme is designed to meet the needs of both new lecturing staff who might lack a detailed background in learning and teaching, and more established members of academic staff/clinical educators who wish to gain formal recognition for their roles in teaching.

Course modules

Courses include; learning and teaching in higher education 1, learning and teaching in medical education, introduction to educational research design, quantitative and qualitative methods and data analysis in education, medical education 2, medical education 3 and a research project in medical/dental education.

Assessment methods

By combination of written examinations and course work, as prescribed for each course. The thesis/dissertation will be assessed and there may be an oral examination of completion of the programme.

There are various sources of funding to support you during your period of study. We have a number of scholarships and bursaries available to our students, and external sources of funding available.
