The programme objectives are to provide students with: the fundamentals of what subsea engineers do and how they contribute to oil & gas project teams; the fundamentals of overall subsea engineering system conception and design, with a sound basis in mathematical and engineering fundamentals; a systems knowledge and understanding from the wellhead to the topside structure interconnection; a systems knowledge and understanding appropriate for all water depths and all geographical areas; content based in current real world experience and future trends.
2.1 Honours degree in engineering; or overseas equivalent.
Core modules: Subsea systems and networks; flow assurance; subsea controls; pipelines and soil mechanics; risers and moorings; subsea operations and integrity; subsea construction, inspection and maintenance; subsea safety and reliability management.
Coursework; written examination.
