Digital Film Technologies and Production

Thic course offers students the opportunity to study the technologies of digital film making at postgraduate level; it also exposes students to a range of contemporary production practices through workshops and self-initiated project-based work; the course provides students with the knowledge and skills to pitch ideas, write proposals, and identify sources of funding and appropriate avenues for distribution of their work.

Entry requirements

1st degree or a postgraduate qualification such as a Postgraduate Certificate in Media or equivalent qualifications in related subjects, such as mass communications, communication studies, English, film and literary studies; applicants are expected to produce a DVD portfolio of digital film and other media work; they should include at least 2 pieces of work in this portfolio submission; they are then interviewed about how they produced the pieces in their DVD portfolio; staff then assess the prospective student's aptitude and suitability for the course.

Course modules

Modules include: digital film production technologies; digital film technology project; insights and interviews; practical post-production and digital effects; practical production techniques; production roles and responsibilities; project development; script to screen; studio technologies and techniques.
