Middle Years (Key Stages 2-3, Mathematics)

This course fully prepares you to teach the 7-14 age range (Key Stages 2/3). You acquire the skills and experience to become a general teacher at Key Stage 2 and a specialist mathematics teacher at Key Stage 3. Teaching is delivered through a blend of lectures, seminars, workshops and collaborative and independent learning approaches. However, the focus is predominantly professional as you undertake 3 placements in different schools, amounting to at least 120 days of practical experience. You work with students aged 7-14 and progress from observing classes, to undertaking small amounts of teaching, to finally completing a substantial amount of teaching within your school placements.

Entry requirements
