University of Bedfordshire
This course is designed to provide the necessary theoretical and practical skills for those who wish to work with performers as a coach, strengthener and conditioner, or in sports science support. The course provides an avenue for elite performers to study their own performance and to develop the necessary skills to help their future performance, or prepare them for work opportunities after retirement from sport; this could be linked to the university's sports scholarship scheme, from which funding for elite sports performers is available. The course also provides the necessary foundation knowledge and skills for professional accreditation with a number of bodies including the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES), the United Kingdom Strength and Conditioning Association (UKSCA) or appropriate higher coaching awards (stage 2 or above).
