Specialist Practitioner Community District Nursing

This course is designed to focus on healthcare and social care provision to individuals, groups and communities within specialist community services. The emphasis in practice is on developing students competence and confidence in assessing the needs of these 3 groups and working in partnership with them to make informed health choices.

Entry requirements

A 1st degree in an appropriate subject-related discipline of a minimum 2.2 Honours classification or equivalent; must on part 1 of the NMC register; have completed a period of experience of sufficient length to have consolidated pre-registration outcomes and to have gained a deeper understanding in relevant professional practice, usually 2 years.

Course modules

Assessments and diagnostic skills in specialist practitioner community district nursing; public health (principles, policies and practice in specialist community district nursing); specialist practitioner community district nursing with v100 community nurse prescribing; transforming healthcare through effective leadership.
