Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (Health Visiting)

This course is designed to focus on healthcare and social care provision to individuals, groups and communities within specialist community services; the emphasis in practice is on developing competence and confidence in assessing the needs of individuals, groups and communities, and working in partnership with them to make informed health choices.

Entry requirements

Applicants must have a degree or Diploma of Higher Education with evidence of continuing professional development. In addition, applicants should hold a relevant current, professional qualification as a Registered Nurse (Adult) with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

Course modules

Assessment and interventions in specialist community public health nursing; public health (principles, policies and practice in specialist communist public health nursing); specialist community public health practice; transforming healthcare through effective leadership.
