Business Administration (Finance)

This is a generalist programme giving students a broad knowledge of business and opening the potential as a base for a focus on finance in the 2nd half of the programme. As such it should help students to join an employer in a variety of positions, with a natural expectation that finance would be a preferred career route. It also gives students an appreciation of the roles of most functions within an organisation, helping them to co-operate effectively with future colleagues in cross-functional tasks.

Entry requirements

Applicants should have: an Honours degree in any discipline from a recognised higher education institution; where English is not the 1st language: IELTS: 6.0 or equivalent is required.

Course modules

Core modules: accounting and finance for decision makers; corporate finance; executive development project; finance and the capital markets; foundations of investment theory; leading people in organisations; management practice; managing operations and projects; marketing for managers; strategic management; theory into practice project; theory into practice project (finance).

Assessment methods

Written reports; business reports; project plan; seminar papers; portfolio; in-class tests; project report; business simulation.
