Tourism and Environmental Management

This course is designed to equip students to engage with and manage the complex changes and challenges facing the international tourism industry in the 21st century; it equips students for career pathways within business, government, non-government or voluntary organisations; students have the opportunity to acquire valuable business and consultancy skills in environmental impact assessment related to the tourism industry.

Entry requirements

A good Honours degree in geography, tourism or an environment-related discipline; professionals with demonstrated experience or expertise within the industry may apply upon submission of a portfolio of attainment; candidates may be interviewed before commencement of the programme. Applicants whose 1st language is not English should have IELTS 6.0.

Course modules

Contemporary issues in tourism; dissertation; environmental management and sustainability; environmental project management; international tourism development; research philosophies and principles; stewardship, tourism and the environment; worldmaking (tourism and globalisation).

Assessment methods

Dissertation.
