Antiquity (Egyptology Pathway)
Applicants whose 1st language is not English should have one of the following: TOEFL, 8 overall with no less than 21 in Reading, 20 in Listening, 22 in Speaking and 21 in Writing. IELTS 6.5 with no less than 6.0 in any band. Pearson
Test of English (PTE) Academic 59 in all 4 skills. Cambridge English: Advanced Minimum overall score of 176, with no less than 169 in any component.
Core modules: students choose 2 core language modules. Normally this is 2 modules of Egyptian, but students may take 1 module of Egyptian and 1 from the following languages: Greek (beginners' or advanced); Latin (beginners' or advanced); Sumerian; Akkadian.
Students also study a 3rd core module in research and scholarship.
Optional modules (choose 3): Egyptology options available include: Ancient Egyptian religion; Egyptian culture in context.
Other options offered include: Herodotus and other worlds; funerary archaeology.
Students complete a 15,000-word dissertation on a subject of their choice, with 1-to-1 expert supervision.
