Music (Critical Musicology pathway)

This course aims to equip the student with core historical and analytical skills as well as the enabling to operate in a field that is broadly interdisciplinary. At the heart of this pathway is the thinking about music module. This is a historically oriented module in aesthetics, whose raison d'être lies in the conviction that, if musicologists are truly to benefit from reading theory, they first need a solid grounding in the philosophical tradition from which its most significant writers stem.
