Road Management and Engineering

This programme in its current form is a natural progression from our previous programmes in highway engineering, management and traffic engineering. Its purpose is to provide advanced training for engineers aspiring to higher or middle-management positions in either private or public sector road engineering organisations.

Entry requirements

The basic requirement is a good Honours degree in an appropriate discipline (for example, engineering, sciences, geology, geography or mathematics) and evidence of adequate knowledge of English. However, practical experience may also be taken into account.

Course modules

Financial management; research and communication skills; sustainable road transport; road design; road safety; road asset management; road economics; pavement engineering.

Assessment methods

A research project which accounts for 60 credits (one third of the overall programme).
