The programme comprises 1 major research project in biomaterials, which can be based in the University or in industry, plus 6 taught modules, 5 compulsory and 1 optional.
An Upper 2nd Class Honours degree or equivalent in science, health sciences or engineering. International students. Where English is not the native language/language of instruction: IELTS: 6.0 with no less than 5.5 in any band; or TOEFL IBT: 82 overall with no less than 19 in Reading, 19 in Listening, 21 in Speaking, 19 in Writing; or Pearson Test of English (PTE): PTE Academic 51 in all 4 skills.
Core modules: introduction to materials; materials characterisation; biomaterials; effective project management; presentation and communication skills/team skills development. Optional modules (choose 1 or 2 from): degradation of materials in the body; nanochemistry; polymer science and soft matter; tissue engineering.
