Molecular and Cellular Biology
This programme is designed to prepare students for a career in research in molecular and cellular biology and its applications; it aims to provide training in the practical aspects that underlie research science in this field; to achieve this aim the course contains a very high level of hands-on research experience as it is our view there is no better training than lab experience.
An Honours degree (minimum 2:1), preferably with a background in the physical sciences, as well as those with degrees in biochemistry, biology or other life sciences; English language requirements may apply for international students.
Compulsory taught modules: Postgraduate core skills in biosciences; techniques in molecular and cellular biology. The majority of the programme consists of 2 research projects.
The 2 taught modules are assessed via examination, essays and oral presentations; the 2 research projects are assessed via reports, oral presentation, poster assessment and a viva voce.
